Religion, faith, and its by-product have always been a major distinguisher among masses of different faiths and a flashpoint for conflicts in history, besides it had been a consolidating, unifying, and contributing force too. Religion is in the eyes of many seen as a source of guidance and immortality and in the eyes of the others as a source of violence and disputes. It taught humanity both love and inhumanity, It caused both brotherhood and enmity, it sparked both war and unity. Religion has helped people reach enlightenment and come out of ignorance or the opposite it misused peoples’ faith and ignorance which led to more misery and calamities. And in the current world, these misinterpretations, misunderstandings, and misuse of peoples’ faith and beliefs are used for personal and political gain and for subduing and conquering a nation which has caused only devastation and destruction. So from these occurrences, people inferred that religion is the reason for destruction and violence and begin questioning their religion, their beliefs, their faith in God and his mercy to the point of declaring that God is Dead in the book Gay of Science also called as The Joyful Pursuit of Knowledge and Understanding by author Friedrich Nietzsche who also wrote his last book about Anti-Christ. In his book Gay of Science, he mentioned that they killed God” Jesus Christ” as a means to become God themselves, He mentioned how they could manage to supplant God with Darwinism, Atheism, Secularism, through stereotyping and equating religion with stigmas, violence, wars and by questioning the existence of God ”Does God Exist?.” which ultimately, led to choosing atheism and secularism as the options for living a better life.
Is atheism or secularism the option for living a better and prosperous life?
Our lives are meaningful and worth living if we only pursue a purpose and work towards it with determination. For us, Islam gives our lives a direction, a purpose, and faith in Allah give us the determination to dedicate our lives for Allah and to spread Allah’s words of love and guidance and that is the sole purpose of us Muslims being born in the world. Our purpose adds meaning to our lives and fulfilling them makes our lives worth living. So the answer to the question, ” Are Atheism and secularism the options for living a better life?.” is solely subjective. For us Muslims, Our faith in Allah makes us determined to fight and sacrifice for his cause, and our religion, Islam set us on a track of becoming a good Muslim each day with Islam’s principles, ethics, morals, and values as our guide thus giving us both purpose and a direction to never lose track in life. So living an atheistic and secularist life without a direction, purpose, morals, ethics, and values are flawed and headed for disaster because one can never rightly choose, decide, make a judgment or draw a conclusion in life by solely and merely relying on one’s own nature, desires, or concept of morality- what is right and what is wrong, That is why atheist leaders like Adolf Hitler, Stalin, Mao, etc… killed millions of people because they thought it was the right thing to do. In conclusion, we can say that forming our opinion about values, ethics, morals based on our subjective views and deciding what is right and what is wrong on our own, is obviously wrong because one’s judgments and outlook towards things can be manipulated leading to misinterpretation, misunderstanding, and misuse of their beliefs and faith. Therefore, in the first place, people begin questioning their religion, their God, and groups like the Taliban, Al-Qaeda or other extremist groups emerges out of that misinterpretation and belief that their interpretation of Islam and Quran is right and acts based on their criteria of right and wrong which is the reason for people being killed, schools being burned down, girls and women being restrained inside the confinement of their house, and many more atrocities.
My Optimistic Views on the question ”Does God exist?”
The Question, ”Does God exist??”, is definitely difficult to answer but not impossible, The only way or moment in which you can understand and answer this question is in the moment of complete despair and hopelessness or when you have developed deep loathing of the world. It is when you have developed a deep loathing of the world, it is when you are pushed to the edges and you no longer want to live by such agonizing pain and burdens of life, it is when you are placed between choices of death and life and ready to give up on life that you inadvertently seek refuge from someone greater than yourselves, something unimaginable that can get you out of the sufferings, someone that can have the power to end all the pain, someone that can revive hope and enliven the soul again and that is God(Allah). So believe in the mercy of Allah and never lose hope in his mercy because in the Holy Quran Surah Yusuf(12:87) Allah has declared hopelessness as a sin and says that only disbelievers lose hope in Allah’s mercy and question or deny him and his mercy.. Allah’s essence is benevolent and kind. he created humans and loves them as a father who loves his children.
Real God is unimaginable
Before understanding the word God you have to let go of resisting and denying his existence and seek refuge from him in your difficult times and that is when you will start to live under his magnanimous shelter and feel his presence when you are left with no one to turn to in moments of despair and hopelessness. After letting go of your resistance you should stop seeking God in any form, shape, size, race, color, and essence. He is beyond everything the human mind could perceive or else he would not be called God(The creator of the universe). He is unimaginable and Lastly, he is rewarding and compassionate. He will evaluate our devotion to him with endless trails and he will reward us with another trial each time to the point that we become closer and closer to God and we can never stray away from his path. And, remember that your purpose in life is worshiping Allah. Preaching his words of love and guidance is your duty. All the stigmas on Islam are part of a conspiracy.. Never lose hope and get disappointed in his trails and in your path to Allah because he examines his best subjects only.
So whether does God exist or not is solely based on your faith and belief in him. Those who believe that God exist for them him, the almighty always exit and is always there for them and on the contrary, for those who deny his existence and do not believe that God exist, then for them he does not exist. That’s all.
