The Five Pillars of Islam are the pillars of belief(Iman) and the gateway to Islam. They are Tawhid( اصل توحید); The faith in the oneness of God and not mere belief, Prophecy(اصل نبوت); The faith in his Messengers, Imamat(اصل امامت); The faith in Ali Ibn Abi Talib and his chosen one being the religious leader or Imam after the demise of Hazrat Muhammad(PUBH), Divine Justice(عدل); Having faith that God is just and fair, and lastly, Mi’ad(معاد); Having faith in the Day of Judgement. But following the entrance in Islam, it is the principles of Islam that add value to the lives of its faithful believers, It is the principles that give their lives order and regulations to abide by and not stray away from its path. But, those principles once Islam was remembered for and those principles which spread Islam far and wide and kept Islam alive in the hearts of millions, despite the stigmas and preplanned incidents to stereotype Islam as violent and as brutal as possible are now forgotten and given up to the past memories. The following principles are of the most endorsed and appraised principles in Islam for Its pious believers that live by those principles and are:

1. Righteousness:

Things that were once deemed unethical, immoral, and wrong in Islam are now treated ethical, moral, and not wrong. Among those things, one of them is lying that is commonplace and no longer presented as something bad but extremely useful for today’s matters of life. Its advocates are proudly advocating to lie on whatever occasion in which speaking truth isn’t for your best and suited interest. So, Simply lie, if the truth isn’t in your benefit, and comfort yourselves in every tense situation with lies because everybody does it in life, in business, in relationship or friendship. We are at a point, we no longer stand for what is right. We sell lies daily like a product and it contaminates the tongue of ours which is the gate to the heart, then the heart too gets contaminated and becomes the home of evil. As a result, we walk away from good virtues and deeds, we do things not for our beliefs on righteousness then but for fame, recognition and remuneration which ruin the main purpose of doing good deeds.

2. Respect:

we disregard one another. We no longer feel respect or feel obligated to respect one another because of an ill-conceived sense of arrogance and pride. We don’t think, talk, and act out of respect because we simply don’t think of the need to respect anyone. In the past, it was unquestionably alike to a prayer to respect your elders, especially, your father and mother but we even stop doing that too.

3. Love and affection:

We humans have been through a lot from the past till now and have suffered just because of love. It caused destruction to us because we are ready to do anything for love; sacrifice ourselves for love, sacrifice others for our love. But the absence of love is also proved devastating rather than its presence. Colonialism, racial superiority, fascism, sectarianism, they are the are as a result of the slightest hate in our hearts towards another, It is hatred that breeds enmity and separation and war which all starts with the mere presence of hatred and loathing towards each other. To be frank, nowadays we easily begin to hate each other because it is easy to hate, But hard to love, and ironically it is without a single reason. We develop hatred and it goes unnoticed until we begin to realize we have no option but to hate each other even more. There is no way back because, in a heart where there is an absence of love and affection towards everyone, there will be hatred and hatred is the worst thing you would keep in your heart. It breeds envy, competition, greed, and vengeance which will consume your time and energy to hate someone rather than using the same to spread love and joy. So, Love instead of hate because Hate is a burden but love is freedom.

4. Being patient:

Having patience in a moment of great despair and disenchantment is a great commodity or advantage because it grants some space for the mind to act wisely with calculated measure, and not in haste with grieve and loss in mind. It creates and window of opportunity in a closed and shut environment of negativity and therefore the patient is the best of what we can be in the face of hopelessness. An impatient fella is always one step away from disaster, unlike the patient one which is always one step ahead.

5. The Faith in God:

what you resort to after being left alone; the one you choose when no one chooses you, the one you rely on when surrounded with disappointment and turn to when helpless. It is the faith you have in him that gives strength to not yield in the face of disparity and difficulty, who would give him the patience to withstand his challenges. His faith in him would strive him forward in his most difficult path.

6. Mercy and Empathy:

As a human being first, it is our duty to care for one another and help one another which is the most beautiful characteristic that develops mercy and empathy in human beings. It is a part of the human need to have someone to share his happiness or pain with, to grieve with or rejoice with. People tend to have a need for social life and for that, we need mercy and empathy in between. To put it simply, it is essential for our survival the way food is.

Lastly, wish you gained some knowledge, but you have walked only halfway, to make it to the end you have to put that knowledge to use and remember that Five Pillars of Islam is only the gateway to Islam, But what perfects the Iman or Faith of a Muslim besides that Five Pillars of Islam, is the good virtues and deeds of a Muslim.

  8. […] This tendency to be perfect all the time and everywhere stems from your need to be socially accepted, but perfect not necessarily in a positive sense, But in a sense that if you could match their expectation, their standards or level of what they deem as perfect, then you are perfect. it is simply nothing but trying to please others and this need for pleasing other is felt when the real image of you is not appreciated, loved and accepted, in return, you have to please others expectations of you that they like and accept by becoming someone other than yourself, someone that you barely enjoy being, but you are forced by other’s opinions, judgments and expectations of you. Consequently, our confidence and self-esteem will pay a heavy price, due to lack of belief, trust, and confidence in ourselves, in our abilities, in our strength, and in our worth or value. so we have to recover from it the sooner the better by trying not to manage others’ opinions first, second stopping ourselves from ignoring our reality, third embracing our life with its flaws and imperfections, and finally by being aware of our unnoticed thoughts that are full of negativity.
