Every day, our lives move into the digital space more an 89d more. Our work, interests, communication – everything is there. Because of that, corporations build additional cell towers, radio and electromagnetic wave emitting antennas currently 5G, and this fact raises strong concern about its possible harm from the electromagnetic waves it emits and the effect it will leave. But don’t worry, From this article, you will learn everything you need to learn about 5G Connectivity, including what is a 5G Network, what is it used for and how is it affecting life on the earth?
What is 5G?
5G is the 5th generation mobile network. It is a new replacement version of the previous global wireless standards like 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G networks. The new 5G enables a new kind of network that is designed to connect virtually everyone and everything together including machines, objects, and devices. With high speeds, superior data transfer, and negligible wavelengths, 5G will invade the work-force ecosystem in every realm. 5G will impact every industry, making transportation robotic, healthcare AI dominated, agriculture automotive, logistics, and data digitized — and many more misdeed than what is possibly real. You will find out its reality and how it will be utilized in the workforce in the paragraphs below, so carry on. Good Luck.
What Is 5G Network Used For?
It turns out that we have become a real consumer. – not just energy and food, but data and information. What are 100 gigabytes of data these days? Modern games take that amount of space, and a smartphone with a monthly usage of hundred gigabytes will feel rather normal. 30 years ago that volume was transmitted per day approximately by all people on Earth. A little later, it took an hour, and then a second. And today, we have even come closer to transferring Gigabytes of data in milliseconds through 5G networks. Now by that standard of the past, we are in a real data-oriented World. Here is another interesting and cringy fact that is; by 2025, in five years of time, the data usage through 5G networks may even lead to wild numbers of 169 exabytes (Each Exabytes is a billion Megabytes). But what are those numbers of data used for?. Well, the first popular category that most data traffic is concentrated on is watching videos. In statistics (screenshot above) from Ericsson Telecommunication Company about data traffic shows that Video streaming in immersive formats(HD, UHD, 4K, 8K, and Newly launched AR, VR, and 360 View video resolutions, are the contributing to 63 percentile of the Data traffic and Usage globally and by 2025 that number make up to 76 percentile, a 13% increase. And that amount of traffic flow and usage in not over Netflix, Youtube or other video-making platform but over a personal hub and other popular adult content sites. The Second Source, for which 5G networks will be utilized for is the IoT technology and that’s the scary part.
What is IoT technology or the Internet of Things and why 5G is used for it?
IoT technology is a term that refers to connected physical and digital components. IoT components can transmit data without the assistance of human executors. They are machines that connected via the internet and mobile network and can communicate with each other. M2M(Machine to Machine) devices or better known as Smart Devices are also part of IoT technologies. These Smart technologies or devices are ATMs, terminals, surveillance and recognition systems, navigators, fitness trackers, scanners, and soon we’ll add autonomous vehicles, and AI robotic machines. Statistics predict that in 2025 the number of smart devices connected to the internet will surge to an unprecedented amount of 75.44 billion worldwide compare to the current 30.73 billion and also it is estimated that over 1.1 trillion US dollar will be spent on IoT technologies till 2023 which means that IoT Technology will Literally take over the world in decades to come. But why is 5G connectivity so important for IoT Technology?.
IoT technology has five types of IoT applications:
- Consumer IoT—such as consumer electronics, energy and security, smart home appliances, and voice assistance for the elderly. the scariest; AI robots and auto-performing technologies.
- Commercial IoT—applications of IoT in the healthcare and transport industries, such as smart pacemakers, monitoring systems, and vehicle to vehicle communication (V2V), automotive retail stores.
- Industrial application (IoT)—includes digital control systems, statistical evaluation, smart agriculture, automotive manufacturing, and GPS systematical supply chain system.
- Infrastructure IoT—enables the connectivity of smart cities through the use of infrastructure sensors, management systems, and user-friendly user apps and tools.
- Military Things (IoMT)—application of IoT technologies in the military field, such as robots for surveillance, robotic paramedic, or robot fighter and human-wearable biometrics for combat.
In order for five types of IoT technology applications to function smoothly with no lags and delays, it needs high-speed data transmission through networks such as 5G which could in instant share loads of information between devices and objects to make it possible for them to produce a result in matters of seconds. But there is a certain downfall too to the era of IoT technologies. It too has some negative implications and will leave our lives affected by its implications.
How will 5G networks and auto= functioning IoT technologies affect our life?
